About Julia

My path into healing began unexpectedly when I became seriously ill in college with mononucleosis. What should have been a temporary setback turned into post-viral syndrome (ME/CFS)  Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, and eventually dysphagia. One morning I woke up unable to swallow solid food; medical testing confirmed a neurologically based swallowing disorder, and for years I have lived on liquids and purées.

There were long stretches—many years—when I was bedridden or simply trying to survive day to day. I was often too ill to attend events, have a social life, or participate in the world in any consistent way. During those years, I came to know what it feels like to lose hope, to feel like giving up, and to wonder if life would ever expand again. Those years forced me into a depth of  anger, grief, and often prayer and surrender.

I also know what it’s like to face judgment, disbelief, and dismissal from others simply because my illness was invisible. Living with an unseen disability often meant having my experience questioned or minimized, which added another layer of pain to an already difficult journey.

The illness opened a door into decades of study, spiritual exploration, and deep personal transformation. Over the years I’ve trained with many respected teachers and healers across a wide range of modalities. I’ve also learned from a few I won’t name—teachers who, by example, showed me what not to do, and who taught me how essential integrity, respect, and humility are when working with someone’s energy and wellbeing.

I am certified in Akashic Field Therapy by C.J. Martes and in Akashic Records Healing with Linda Howe. I’m also a BodyTalk Practitioner trained by Dr. John Veltheim; certified in Matrix Energetics with Dr. Richard Bartlett; hold multiple Reiki certifications, including Reiki Master (2002). In addition, I earned my CTA Life Coach certification in 2003.

As part of my commitment to helping others with similar challenges, I wrote a book titled Dysphagia Naturally, created to support people living with swallowing disorders and to offer guidance, comfort, and practical tools rooted in my own lived experience.

I’m a native New Yorker, now living with my husband, David, in a wee farming village in Scotland. I enjoy long walks in the countryside, photography, and meditation. Life here feels a bit like my own version of Northern Exposure—quirky, peaceful, and deeply nourishing. And while I often reminisce about the supermarket sized health-food store in my neighborhood in Manhattan, I’ve found that the quiet of  living and clean air in rural Scotland has brought me a deep level of healing and grounding.

My new life came to me in the very moment I believed everything was over—an unexpected, magical shift that could only be described as divine intervention.  I think of the Tony Bennett song 'Just In Time'' about two people at the end of their ropes who meet and fall in love. It was a song that played by itself one day  when I was cleaning my mother's apartment soon after she passed. My mother  Esther was a big believer in prayer and miracles. I could never have imagined that soon after that song would come to life. I am working on a book now about this miracle.

Today, I bring together my lived experience, my intuitive insight, and my training to support people facing invisible illness, chronic conditions, trauma, core fears and limiting beliefs. My work comes from a place of compassion, clarity, and the highest integrity—values shaped by my own journey through severe illness into the unexpected new life that rose out of it. â€‹
